14-Apr-2013Polebridge Playtime at Plutek’s

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s a bunch of microphones and a noise making device that I’m totally in love with from some tracking I did this week. Speaking of, recording is almost complete for my new Polebridge album and we’re excited to be launching the disc on June 11th at SubCulture (tickets).

Thanks again to Plutek for your playing, audio engineering, photography and existence – all of which were incredibly inspiring!

3-Apr-2013Back in the Studio with Polebridge

Another adventurous day of Polebridge recording was had with my fellow collaborators, trumpeter first-class Micah Killion and Peter Lutek, who in addition to many talents is lending his formidable audio engineering skills to the album. Check out a sample below of Micah’s soaring flight over my broodingly harmonious “Didn’t Ask – Breathe Now”. The performance and composition are dedicated to the memory of Celia Furey.

Didn’t Ask – Breathe Now

I. Love. Voiceleading. Almost as much as this gent loves appliances.

25-Feb-2013New Amsterdam Records Devastated by Hurricane Sandy

Here we are in February 2013 and people and businesses are still being affected by Hurricane Sandy. New Amsterdam Records (@newamrecords), a mainstay record label in NYC, was devastated by the storm in late October 2012. Shortly before, they were kind enough to host a video shoot for a new project of mine. In the meantime they have assessed their damage and are looking for donations towards their recovery costs. They and their artists contribute greatly to the NYC and global music scene and I hope you consider a donation or sharing the news. Please view their press release or consider donating below:

28-Sep-2012Video: Jayme Stone – Debussy Heights

“Debussy Heights”, a clip from my travels with Jayme Stone this summer, composed by Jayme. Serious pleasure to play with these guys and the shoot was a blast – you rock Lindsay! Bonus points for all who find the secret pop reference… and check out our recording of Bach’s Art of the Fugue Contrapunctus #9 by the same ensemble. We didn’t use the take with said pop reference, sadly :(

5-Sep-2012New Album Recorded – Polebridge

Much fun was had with Andrew Small, Steph Nilles, Micah Killion and John Marcus at Dubway Studios this week recording the new album “Polebridge” I was commissioned to compose. Stay tuned – Micah will be launching a Kickstarter campaign shortly to fund the release of the album. Some clips in the meantime from the official Polebridge page:
